  • Does my skater need a coach?

    • The Hutchinson Parks and Recreation (PRCE) skating program is focused on introducing new skaters to the sport of figure skating and is setup for instructor-lead group lessons to learn the fundamental skills in Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta skating levels.
    • Once a skater completes the PRCE program and joins HFSA as a freestyle 1 skater, HFSA continues to provide weekly group lessons and private ice sessions. 

  • What are the costs of private coaching?

    Coaching rates will vary by coach but you can expect ~$10 fee for each 15 minute coaching session. 

    The coach will bill the skater directly.

Coaching Specialty: I love to coach because it allows me to work one on one with the skater to help them best understand the skills and techniques to grow as a skater. Being a coach is being a mentor; I love to help! 
Coaching experience: I have been coaching Figure Skating for 17 years and currently a Gold certified ISI coach.

Private lesson rate: $10.00/15 min.

Coaching Specialty: I really enjoy coaching as it allows me to work one-on-one with the skater, technically and artistically.   

I love being able to assist them with mastering their elements, and teaching them how those elements build off of one another as 

they progress through the levels. The most rewarding part of being a coach/mentor is watching each skater grow into their own personality!

Coaching Experience: I am an ISI Silver Certified coach. I’ve been coaching for Hutchinson PRCE Skate School and HFSA for 8 years and have been taking skaters to competition for 5+ years.

Coaching Levels: Pre-Alpha-FS 6 
Private Lesson Rate: $10.00/15 mins
Coaching Specialty: I love the sport of skating for its creativity. Each level has unique elements that add on from the previous levels. I enjoy seeing and fostering that progression in athletes. I also enjoy choreography, artistry, and off-ice skills and drills. My favorite part about coaching is the mentoring piece and seeing kids grow up becoming equipped with lifelong skills that go beyond skating. 
Coaching Experience: I have been coaching sports since 2004. I am a certified head coach and have a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science. Cumulatively I have coached figure skating 9+ years both as a PRCE instructor and an ISI freestyle instructor, 4 years as a competition coach, and 9 years as a track and field coach. I am currently a Gold certified ISI coach.

Coaching Specialty: Figure skating is like being apart of a family. I love to see my students connect with other students, coaches and the ice to discover how much they have grown and continue to grow throughout their skating careers. Seeing skaters challenge themselves and putting their own creativity into their skating is what fulfills me with proudness and joy. I am grateful to be apart of this family! 

Coaching Experience: I started skating when I was 3 years old, When I was 9 years old I started the PRCE/HFSA program throughout my high school career. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I have taught PRCE for many years off and on (Total of 8 years). This is my first year coaching HFSA and I am excited to bring my teaching and coaching skills to the program!

Coaching Specialty:  Coaching figure skating is a passion of mine because it allows me to help skaters discover their potential and achieve their dreams. I love seeing the joy that comes with mastering a new skill or landing a difficult jump. I love to inspire and guide skaters to push their boundaries and express themselves creatively. Watching others grow is incredibly rewarding and fuels my own love for the sport I was raised doing. 

Coaching Experience:  I have been a PRCE coach for 5 years now and a HFSA coach for 1 year.

Coaching Specialty:  I love the art of figure skating and aspire to help my skaters to love and appreciate it as much as I do while also improving their skills and elements. As well as their physical and mental strength as a skater. I also greatly enjoy coming up with and aiding in choreography of competition programs. Most of all I want my skaters to feel at home in the rink and to help create a safe environment for them.

Coaching Experience: I am currently a Silver certified ISI coach and have been coaching private lessons for 1 year. I have also been coaching PRCE for about 4 years and skating myself since I was 6.

Coaching Specialty: I’m passionate about coaching figure skating because I find so much enjoyment in getting to know my skaters and working hard with them to achieve their goals! This sport has taught me so much and coaching is an opportunity for me to share what I love. Figure skating is such an awesome and unique sport and it’s super cool to be apart of this community that perfectly combines athleticism and artistry! 

Coaching experience:  I have skated for 15 years, I have been coaching PRCE for about 5 years, and I’ve been an HFSA coach for about 2 years. I also am a coach at Southern Minnesota Skating Club in St. Peter Minnesota!
